Your support is restoring habitat!

Still on the subject of protecting vulnerable flying fox populations, we’ve recently invested over $424,000 in a five-year bush regeneration project in mid-north New South Wales. As important habitat for grey headed flying foxes, the project, managed by Jaliigirr Biodiversity Alliance, will increase and protect their roosting and foraging habitats and of course will benefit every other species that shares this home.

Alongside reducing invasive plant species and planting additional trees, the project is expanding on existing work to rehabilitate and restore critical coastal habitat and will work closely with local partners including indigenous rangers of the Gumbayngirr nation.

So much of what we do at WIRES is dependent on their being healthy, protected habitat for rescued native animals to return to – and we are deeply grateful your support is helping us fund this critical long-term venture.
