40 Years of Wildlife Rescue

Since 1985, WIRES has provided rescue advice and hands-on assistance 365 days a year, helping more than 2.2 million Australian native animals. To find out more read about our history and our impact for wildlife.

WIRES Impact Reports

For over four decades WIRES has been helping sick, injured and orphaned native animals. WIRES focuses on improving wildlife emergency rescue and response, increasing national wildlife rescue and rehabiltiation capacity, reducing risks to wildlife, and advocating for the preservation and protection of wildlife and wildlife habitat. WIRES Emergency Response and Recovery Plan has been active since 2020 and WIRES Annual Impact Reports are available below.
