 Rescue 101 Course

The Rescue 101 Course is a quick and easy way to help wildlife.

As a Rescue 101 (R101) volunteer, you can help to rescue commonly reported wildlife species and transport them to veterinary care. Your role provides maximum flexibility, allowing you to decide how often you get involved and how many rescues you undertake.

If you can answer yes to the following, you may be eligible:

  • I am over 18 years old
  • I live in NSW
  • I have a driver's license and a private vehicle (ie car) to use
  • I have time to help wildlife in need
  • I understand this will be an emotional journey

What's Involved?

The online modules you will complete in this course cover essential topics such as:

  • Work, Health & Safety
  • Wildlife rescue and transport fundamentals
  • Bird rescue and transport
  • Reptile and amphibian rescue and transport
  • Mammal rescue and transport

 

Course Details

Flexible Learning: You can learn at your own pace. The course is delivered online, taking approximately 5-7 hours to complete within a three-month enrolment period.

Course fee: $25

Your Impact: Rescue and transport sick, injured and orphaned birds, possums, lizards, turtles and frogs and transport them to a vet clinic. Further training is available upon completion of the Rescue 101 course for those who wish to rescue more wildlife species and provide immediate care.

After completing the course, your volunteering authority is valid for one year. To remain a volunteer after this time, you must renew your volunteer authorisation annually.
