Course Details

The Rescue and Immediate Care Course Refresher (RICC Refresher) is designed to re-engage past members and students. It is only available to those who have previously completed the WIRES Rescue and Immediate Care Course (RICC)and want to volunteer with WIRES to actively rescue and care for wildlife.

The course is available 100% online and does not include a workshop component.

Past WIRES members will only need to complete the RICC Refresher Course if it has been more than two years since your membership lapsed.

If you were a WIRES member or you completed the WIRES RICC less than 2 years ago, please email members@wires.org.au to enquire about reinstating your membership.

If it has been more than 2 years since you were last a WIRES member, please fill in the form below and our training team will get back to you shortly.

WIRES RICC Refresher includes information on:

  • Work, Health & Safety
  • Species Identification
  • Common Rescue Scenarios
  • Safe Handling Techniques

Note: NOTE: To actively volunteer with WIRES you must be aged 18 years or over and reside in a WIRES area in NSW. If you have any questions about your eligibility, please complete the enquiry form.
