Support the Emergency Service for the wild
Every day we’re doing everything we can to assist native animals in distress, as threats to wildlife escalate.
WIRES Wildlife Rescue Service plays a vital role in protecting native animals. With a committed 24/7 wildlife rescue hotline, 4,000 trained Wildlife Volunteers, and a specialised Emergency Response Team (ERT) made up of highly skilled responders and equipped with Wildlife Ambulances, their efforts are vital for the survival of Australia's native wildlife.
Known as the "triple zero for wildlife", our WIRES Wildlife Volunteers and Emergency Responders provide urgent rescue and care; but the demand for this service is rising.
This Giving Day, we’re seeking urgent support to accelerate our frontline emergency response - answer more calls, train more volunteers, and deploy more Wildlife Ambulances with trained Emergency Responders.
Donations made on October 16th will be DOUBLED, maximising your impact to save wild lives.

HELP US RESCUE DISTRESSED WILDLIFE
We're preparing for a difficult season...
Right now, the WIRES Wildlife Rescue Office is conducting back-to-back training sessions for new phone Responders, making sure we are equipped and ready for escalating calls in the months to come.
In preparation for prolonged and deadly heat stress events, our expert bat carers are working with local councils to identify all known bat colonies and making sure local vets and bat rescuers are equipped, vaccinated and ready when extreme heat strikes.
We're meeting with government agencies to prepare for avian flu outbreaks, whilst our Emergency Responders are being equipped with new fire-ready PPE, including protective helmets, goggles, high visibility jackets, and steel-capped boots.
This is your support in action, making sure Australian native animals receive the Emergency Response they both need and deserve. On their behalf thank you!
