WIRES have been serving native animals and the community for 3 decades.

We have an extensive volunteer network doing outstanding rescue and care work to help sick, injured and orphaned wildlife. If you are interested in joining us as a volunteer rescuer or carer in NSW, you will need to complete our Rescue and Immediate Care Course.

WIRES After Hours Call Centre Coordinator - On Call Overnight Work

Help make a difference to native wildlife and volunteers around NSW!

We are looking for motivated individuals with a love of Australian native wildlife to join our small dedicated team.

The Wires Rescue office operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The call centre is open from 7am – 7pm, with an emergency after hour service operating from 7pm - 7am. You will be working in a casual position on an interchanging 7 day roster. You will be required to be on call after office hours a minimum of twice a week, and have the ability to work during office hours at least once a week.

The WIRES rescue office is responsible for taking incoming reports via telephone and email. Rescue Office Coordinators also liaise with WIRES volunteer members, veterinarians and relevant stakeholder organisations.We currently have casual vacancies in WIRES Rescue Office for Rescue Call Coordinators.
