Our member at Broom, Stephanie was called to collect the chick after it had fallen from the nest during strong winds overnight. Stephanie delivered the chick to a carer experienced in caring for Raptors.  read more

This young female echidna came into WIRES care after she was found wandering around after heavy rain most likely washed from her burrow. She was flyblown, waterlogged and still dependant on her mother’s milk.  read more

Long journey for young turtle

Macquarie Turtle copyright Nick Edards This newly hatched Macquarie turtle went on a very long journey for one so young. The turtle was found on the floor in the toilets of a Macksville service station, no bigger than a 50c piece. The truck driver who found it thought someone would step on it so he thought he'd call WIRES. Unfortunately he called WIRES at the end of his journey in Sydney and it went into the care of Kerry in the north shore branch.  read more
