Kookaburra chicks survive fall Print E-mail

Kookaburra Chicks Three juvenile kookaburra chicks were rescued this week when their nest collapsed. The nest was in a termite mound high in a tree in northern Sydney. Perhaps due to heavy weekend rain the termite mound collapsed and the three chicks found themselves homeless.

With the mother nowhere to be found the chicks were rescued by a WIRES volunteer who works in a nearby building. The chicks will be in care for some weeks until they are able to be released.
