WIRES rescues about 60,000 animals each and every year but numbers do not tell the true story. Getting close enough to animals to observe their behavior, to learn about them and understand them, without over handling or domesticating them is a skill that our volunteers develop through their exacting training sessions.

But none of this would happen without your continued support.

We are more dependent upon the generosity of the public than before as we have become so well known and respected for our work that we are getting more and more calls every day and we have to make sure that we offer the telephone service, animal rehabilitation training, the food subsidies and administrative support required by our volunteers – because they cannot do it alone.
